Hi, I am Renee. It’s an honor to have you here.
Your wellbeing is at the heart of our journey together.
I’ve known since I was 7 that I wanted to be a therapist. While other kids were out there dreaming of becoming astronauts or pop stars, I was thinking, “How do I help people feel less alone?” (Okay, I also thought about becoming a professional chocolate taster, but therapy won out.)
After a life-changing experience in therapy as a kid, I realized how powerful it is to feel truly seen and heard. That experience planted a seed in me, and life kept watering it. Spoiler alert: I’m a trauma survivor myself. I know how tough it can be to make sense of your story, to break free from patterns that aren’t serving you, and to imagine a future that feels brighter.
Now, over a decade into this work, I’ve learned that the real magic of therapy isn’t in the fancy interventions (though I’ve got plenty of those in my toolbox). It’s in connection. Healing happens in safe, supportive relationships. That’s why my approach is deeply relational. It’s also why you’ll never see me sitting there silently nodding with a poker face. Nope. I show up as me: warm, laid-back, and probably cracking a joke within the first five minutes. Therapy can be heavy, but it doesn’t have to be serious all the time. Full belly laughs are welcome here.
I specialize in trauma, anxiety, and depression, especially for clients who are ready to break out of old patterns and make sense of how past experiences are still impacting their lives. I use EMDR (I’m a certified EMDR therapist and consultant-in-training, aka total nerd for how the brain processes trauma), ego state therapy, CBT, and mindfulness-based practices. Basically, I take what works for you and leave the rest. There’s no “one-size-fits-all” approach here.
But let’s get to the fun stuff. Outside of work? You’ll probably find me doing one of four things:
1. Hiking in nature with my dogs (because fresh air is therapy too).
2. Sweating through Pilates (yes, I groan through it like everyone else, but it helps keep my anxiety in check).
3. Eating (if it’s covered in cheese or comes with fries, I’m in).
4. Devouring Romantasy novels (yep, fantasy romance with fae, dragons, magic, and just enough romantic chaos to keep it interesting). If you ever want to lose track of time discussing morally gray characters and slow-burn love stories, I’m your person.
Ultimately, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and heard. I want you to leave each session feeling supported, understood, and maybe even a little lighter. Therapy doesn’t have to feel like a chore. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.
Ready to dive in? Let’s do this—laughs, tears, and maybe some book recs along the way.
